Team Registration

A team is any group of people who want to participate together at the Race for the Cure. This group can come from businesses, churches, clubs, organizations, coworkers, family, or friends. Team members can include Sleep In individuals for those that cannot be present on Race day.  Each team should select a team captain who will be responsible for recruiting team members and managing online team registration.

High School Team Challenge
The High School Team Challenge is a program that we hope will empower students to get involved in the fight against breast cancer. Teams will be judged in three categories: highest student body participation, most funds raised and a special spirit award. E-mail us at komenHSTC@gmail.com to learn more.

Corporate support comes in many forms. Some companies:

• Pay their employee’s registration fees (See "Discount Codes for Team Captains" document below).  This leaves team members free to raise additional money through pledges.
• Match employee donations dollar for dollar.
• Strive to increase employee participation by pledging a fixed amount for a predetermined number of employee registrants, such as $1000 for every 20 participants.

Most Creative Team Poster
Most Creative Team T-shirt

Team Photo and Poster Contest
All teams can have a team photograph taken free of charge between 7:30 and 8:30 am Race morning. To identify your team in the photograph, each team is asked to provide a poster no larger than 4’ high. Posters will be judged while the photos are taken.

Team T-shirt Contest
In addition to the Komen Richmond Race for the Cure® t-shirt provided to all participants, many teams like to create their own t-shirt as a form of identification. The t-shirts will also be judged while the photos are taken.
